There are moments in whisky when time slows, the doors open a little wider, and you’re invited into the heart of a distillery. Our 2026 Private Cask Programme is one of those moments.
At Lochlea, we dedicate around two weeks of our entire year’s production to private casks. Two weeks where the stillhouse runs for you, not for global allocations, not for future releases, but for the handful of people who will one day draw their own whisky from a cask that began its life on our Ayrshire farm.
For 2026, we are making available a very limited number of casks to those who want to share in this journey.

Our first Private Cask Insight Session will take place at the distillery on Wednesday 1st April: an intimate chance to step behind the scenes, learn about the barley we grow in our fields, see the distillery, explore our warehouses, and understand what it truly means to own a Lochlea cask.
These sessions are designed to guide you through our unique journey from field to cask, answer your questions, and help you choose the cask that feels right for you.

AVAILABLE CASKS FOR 2026
Each cask type has been chosen for the way it complements our bright, fruit-forward Single Estate spirit. All are limited. Some are exceptionally rare.
· Refill Bourbon – Up to 200L – Limited
Classic, elegant and honest. A refill cask that lets Lochlea’s spirit shine with purity and finesse.
· 1st-Fill Bourbon – Up to 200L – Limited
Rich vanilla, orchard fruit and creamy sweetness. A timeless choice with depth and generosity.
· PX Sherry – Up to 225L – Very Limited
Dark fruit, treacle and indulgent warmth. A cask that transforms our spirit into something bold and luxurious.
· Calvados – Up to 225L – Extremely Limited
Bright apple, soft spice and a beautiful Highland‑meets‑Normandy character. One of the rarest casks we fill.
WHY IS OUR PROGRAMME SO SPECIAL
Because we are a Single Estate distillery, our whisky is naturally limited. We grow all our own barley, we distil everything on-site, and we mature every cask here on the farm, all within the same fields, the same soil and the same seasons that shape our spirit from the very beginning.
Owning a Lochlea private cask isn’t simply acquiring whisky. It’s stepping into the rhythm of the farm, the slow patience of maturation, and the quiet magic of watching your own spirit evolve in the very place it was born. It means joining a small, select group of people who hold a piece of Lochlea’s story — casks that are as rare, personal and rooted in this land as the whisky itself.
